What's wrong with losing hours to YouTube videos?

I recently found myself climbing out of a 4-hour-long YouTube binge, noticing that when I had clicked the first video, it was early evening, and once I looked up to loosen a crick in my neck, the world had gone dark around me. The only light in my room came from the suggested videos screen on my laptop and it served as a spotlight on me, slouching like a goblin in the dark in sweatpants I had been wearing for two days and an empty pizza box sitting on my desk next to me.

This YouTube binge was caused by me giving into the urge to watch any and every cute interview or funny video that included the casts of "Riverdale" or "Stranger Things," with some Liza Koshy thrown in between for good measure. Watching "Riverdale's" Madelaine Petsch do an impression of co-star Lili Reinhart? Amazing. "Stranger Things'" Millie Bobby Brown rapping a recap of the show's first season? Iconic. YouTube sweetheart Liza Koshy touching a chinchilla in a box without being able to see it? Adorable.

That's not to mention the compliment-off that "Stranger Things" stars Joe Keery and Gaten Matarazzo had for Glamour that definitely didn't make be cry out of cuteness. Watching the two of them stare into each other's eyes and compliment their work ethic and talent was borderline too much for a mere mortal such as myself to handle.

Who says sitting in the same spot for hours and falling into a bloopers spiral is unhealthy? Who needs to leave their home and interact with other humans on weekends? Who lets their obsessions take over their lives? Not me.
